I absolutely love second chance romances. I love reading about couples who have a history together, and for whatever reason, they part ways only to find their way back to each other somewhere down the line. Reading about these types of relationships make my heart soar, my gut clench and hope ignite, and it’s one of my favorite kinds of stories to read. Lani Lynn Vale gave readers a doozy of a second-chance romance in The Hail You Say.

Reed and Krisney met and fell deeply in love as teens. Even at their young age, they recognized that what they shared was that rare, one-in-a-lifetime kind of love. Through no fault of their own, their young love was ripped apart. In the wake of a horribly tragic situation that rocked both of their families, Reed and Krisney were the collateral damage. Their sudden break up was devastating, even more so given the circumstances, and Vale did an amazing job conveying that the gut-wrenching, heart-breaking emotion of that time.

The relationship may have ended, but the love didn’t die. Krisney was left broken-hearted and alone after their relationship ended, and the pain of that abandonment coupled with everything else she was dealing with at the time drove her to leave it all behind by escaping into the military, something that also served to get her as far away from Reed as she could get. Nearly a decade passes before they have any real interaction, and during that unexpected meeting, it was obvious that the feelings for each other were still there and neither had moved on. But it isn’t until a few months later, when back in their home town that ramifications of that run-in come to light, and they realize that everything they wanted is within their grasp if they can set the past aside.

Another fantastic addition to what has become one of my favorite Lani Lynn Vale series, Vale delivered big time in The Hail You Say. She gave her readers a story rich with emotion, full of her quirky sense of humor and with some seriously pent up steam. But it was the exciting, creative suspenseful portion of plot that truly turned this story into something special. The Hail You Say by Lani Lynn Vale gets five smooches from me!

One of my favorites in the Hail Raisers series.

So happy that Krisney & Reed got another chance at their happily ever after! Their second time around was once again full of angst, heartache, tears of joy & sadness & loads of mad chemistry.

Krisney... Good gods, the crap this girl had to go through! The abuse by her brother, the way she was scorned by those she had loved, the loneliness she felt, the never being able to leave it all behind, the loss of Pepe Le Pew, THAT tragic event brought on by b****-nurse, the waiting game, the reserve call-in... My heart went out to her a bajillion times over! She was strong, fierce & had the biggest of hearts. Really dug this chica bonita! )

Reed... I wasn't a super-fan of him in the first half of the book but I did LOVE the way he was with Krisney when he FINALLY pulled his head out of his butt. All the things he did for Krisney behind-the-scenes & the way his eyes lit up in the NICU... Those were kinda amazing moments. And the way he took Krisney after discovering her butt plug was smokin'! But P.S. dude... A c*** inside a woman's mouth counts as being inside of another woman.

Even though it's gonna be painful, I'm looking forward to Dante's book, Hail Mary. I have no clue how things will unfold but I can't wait for him to get another happily ever after!

Side Note I really wish Krisney would've gotten to kick that woman's butt who was trying to put her hands down Reed's pants! #JustSayin'
This is one of those books that bounces all over the place , over a span of fourteen years. It's Confusing and takes away from a smooth reading story. First it is 14 years ago. Chapter 2 is 12years ago then chapter 3 is 6 months , and so on. I found myself checking all the time to find what part of these peoples lives I was reading about. I wish the author had not done this as the book would have flowed so much better.
Another great story from Lani Lynn Vale and the 5th story in the Hail brothers series. This is finally Reed and Krisney’s story and let me tell you....I did NOT see some of these twists! Wow! This is definitely different from the other books because even though you have some interaction from other characters you’re used to it’s not a lot because this story is focused mainly on the H and h which is nice because there weren’t any extra story lines to follow or what I like to call ‘filler pieces’ that some authors use to make the stories longer. LLV doesn’t need to do that in her books which is great but sometimes when you get to a certain point in a series you have all of these extra characters and in your mind you’re trying to remember everything and everyone and it can detract from the story.

So if you like true love stories that have tragically been separated but, because they are meant to be, eventually get back together with a surprise babies and lots of tears and happy love scenes with a bunch of steamy love scenes tossed together in a neatly and eloquently written book then you should definitely read this story. NOTE this IS part of a series and should be read in order not alone!
