I love it. This is the best book yet in this terrific series and the author really knows how to deliver what this reader has wanted to happen since the first book was published. The road to the heart-warming and tender and emotional conclusion was hard fought but with Savannah at the top of her game and Rafe as handsomely wicked in what he does, nothing was impossible. The author’s detailed narrative put me in the middle of all the action. The surprised actions of Savannah’s Mother made this drama more fulfilling, especially with everyone doing their part to make Savannah’s dream come true. I like how the mystery was set up and all the key players had a role in solving it. The author has created a great family dynamics and I like watching the dynamics of this family become more developed as the series progresses. This is great read and I can’t wait to read what happens next in Savannah’s world.
The debut day for this book was a heavy chore day for me, but I carried my with me wherever I went and treated myself to reading time after completing each task on the to-do list. I finished the entire book by late evening ~ even forgoing a baseball game featuring my beloved Cardinals. I am officially and completely in love with Rafe now. Good thing I think Savannah is worthy of him! Otherwise I would have to turn myself into into a fictional character about 40 years younger, a 1000 pounds lighter, and 100% blonder! These kinds of strong feelings for characters can be engendered only by an amazingly talented writer and storyteller like Jenna Bennett. While her characterizations are phenomenal, the story itself is compelling, too ~ not exactly a whodunit since early on we pretty well know, but a page-turning thriller nonetheless with many surprises, including character growth in someone who surprised not only me, but also Savannah and Rafe. I would like to send a crate of Red Bull to Jenna to keep her writing at warp speed because I am so ready for my ~ I mean SAVANNAH'S honeymoon! ) ♥
I am a huge fan of Jenna Bennett and the Savannah Martin mystery series and Unfinished Business is no disappointment! Once again Ms Bennett has brought us along on a journey of two awesome characters and their rocky road to romance. The book starts with Savannah and Rafe and their wedding day only Rafe is no where to be found the morning of the wedding. For a moment Savannah wonders if Rafe has changed his mind and gotten cold feet but quickly dismisses that notion and sets out to try and find out what happened to Rafe. He eventually turns up after being tortured by a criminal he put in prison and this is when the story takes off. You're going to have to read this book to find out what happens but I will tell you the ending is perfect. Throughout the books I haven't really approved of Savannah's mother and her treatment of Rafe but the ending is this book is awesome and couldn't be better. Unfinished Business is a wonderful story and will not let you down!
I love this series, with it's dry humor, deep south sensibilities and edge of the seat suspense. Savannah is the sheltered southern belle who was introduced to the real world when Todd, her husband of two years, left her for his mistress. Rafe is the quintessential bad boy from the wrong side of town her mother warned her about. And the supporting characters could be from right down the street of any town. I can't get enough and can't wait for the next book in the series. And while it can potentially stand alone, this book would be better read in context, from the first of the series. It is a journey well worth traveling.
When the the four months pregnant Savannah wakes up on her wedding day to find Rafe isn't home, she doesn't know what to think. She touches all bases, but no one has seen him since the night before when he left his boss and coworkers at the bar where they were celebrating to head home. Did he get cold feet and leave her at the altar or did someone from his past catch up with him? Her mother supports the first theory, while Tamara and his boss say no, he wouldn't have done that. But Savannah knows if theory two is in play and he is still alive, time isn't on their side. They will have to move fast to solve the mystery, with pitifully few leads to go on.
Savannah Martin wakes up on her wedding day only to find the groom missing. Rafe is nowhere to be found. Although Savannah briefly wonders if Rafe has developed cold feet, deep in her heart she knows something bad has happened to him. With the help of Tamara, her favorite detective, and Wendell, Rafe’s boss, she sets out to find her groom.
Love, love, love this series. Unfinished Business, Book Ten in the Savannah Martin Mystery series, is such a great read. This well-written mystery grabbed my attention and didn’t let go. I couldn’t put it down and was forced to read it in one sitting--LOL. I like the fact that this author has allowed her protagonist to grow. Over the length of this series, Savannah has gone from being a Southern Belle who needs someone to take care of her to being independent and strong. There are a lot of book couples I like, but Rafe and Savannah absolutely get my vote for favorite book couple! I’m looking forward to the honeymoon novella, which I believe will be out soon. I strongly recommend this series. Happy reading!
Unfinished Business, book 10 in the Savannah Martin series, is the best so far! This was a well plotted page turner that draws the reader in from the beginning. Jenna Bennet has created that rare combination of suspense, humor, mayhem, & romance! This time Savanah wakes up alone on the morning of her wedding day to find the groom, Rafe Collier, missing. From there we are taken on a wild ride of missing people & murder. Those romantics out there will delight with the interplay between Savannah & Rafe. (Everyone woman should have a Rafael Collier on their life!) I was afraid this might be the last book in the series, but Jenna Bennett assures me there are more to come!!!! Btw- keep a box of tissues handy for the moments of sadness & joy!
